The Guyana UK Social Development Association (GUSDA) is a vibrant charitable voluntary organization that has been dedicated to uplifting communities since its inception in 1995. Originally founded with a focus on sports development, GUSDA has evolved to encompass a broader scope of social development initiatives, reflecting its commitment to holistic community empowerment.

At GUSDA, our mission is to contribute to the social development of Guyanese communities in Guyana and the United Kingdom. We strive to create positive change in the areas of sports, health, education, culture, community development, and overall well-being.

  1. Empowering Youth: We support skills and employment programs that empower young people to improve their quality of life and achieve their aspirations.
  2. Promoting Well-being: We champion programs and activities that seek to enhance the physical and mental well-being of Guyanese individuals in Guyana and the UK.
  3. Caring for the Vulnerable: We support initiatives that provide care and protection for the young, elderly, and other vulnerable groups within our communities.
  4. Building Inclusive Communities: We engage with Guyanese organizations and communities, supporting their efforts to build effective networks and fostering a greater sense of nationhood.
  5. Fundraising and Humanitarian Efforts: We raise funds through various social and recreational activities to achieve our objectives and assist in humanitarian causes that align with our ethos.

GUSDA operates with a firm commitment to equal opportunity, actively promoting and upholding these principles in all our endeavors. We have no political affiliations and do not knowingly support any partisan political, racist, or anti-social groups or activities.

Join us on our journey as we work tirelessly to empower communities, enrich lives, and create a brighter future for all.

Together, we can make a lasting impact.

GUYANA FOLK FESTIVAL 26 MAY 2024

The Folk Festival gives Guyanese a taste of home. It provides an opportunity for us to get together, reminisce and reflect on how things were ‘back in de day’. For the children of Guyanese parentage, people of the Caribbean and other countries, the Folk Festival is an opportunity to experience this rich cultural heritage.
